Pastor's Corner – July 12th, 2022
It looks like we’re about to get some relief from the heat here in Birmingham following several days of temperatures hovering around the 100-degree mark. The sweltering heat prompted me to think about the many families in our community that must endure the heat without air conditioning.
We are indeed blessed and we lift up those who lack the basic necessities of life. As we pray for these, let’s add to our prayers that God might guide us in ways to help those who are less fortunate than us.
The Leaf Ministry will be wide open this Saturday and they will do so just a little earlier than usual – 8 a.m. You can place legs to your prayers by volunteering with Leaf this weekend. Your volunteer service can be a big help.
Vacation Bible School is fast approaching and we’re expecting an overflow gathering of students. Please spread the word and let’s make this our largest VBS ever. We also need volunteers for the event.
Finally, we’re in for a treat as we look forward to some concentrated teaching on Praise and Worship. These messages will be taught later this Sunday by Stephen Myers. More info to come. Meanwhile, I look forward to completing our teaching on Sabbath Rest this Sunday.
