Two things are weighing heavy on my heart as I write this. First, I am concerned about our children; second, I am concerned about our families.

Last Sunday, Yolette shared with the congregation a prayer guide entitled, “The War Over Our Children”.

The guide offers a 21-day outline of scriptures to pray over our students, their teachers and all those they will come in contact with during the school year. If you did not receive a copy of this prayer guide, a link will be made available to you within the next few days and it will be located on our website and elsewhere.

The war over our children is spiritual and through prayer, we can reclaim a generation from the enemy’s efforts to sow confusion, fear, deception, unbelief and even hate. Through prayer, we can invite God’s Holy Spirit onto our school campuses. Through prayer, we can exercise our authority in Christ, and declare and release God’s power over the lives of our students, launching them into their God-ordained destinies!

It’s time for us to pick up our spiritual weapons of warfare and contend for the preservation of our children’s hearts, minds and souls.

I’m also concerned about our families. We are being attacked left and right and we are losing the fight. Our Dads are being stricken with sickness, young mothers are being paralyzed by grief and the family values of unity and love are becoming relics of the past.

The time has come for us to pray for our families and the time has also come for our families to PRAY!

So, what can you do? If you are a parent, you can begin by praying daily with your parental partner. Once the two of you are on the same accord, begin praying with your children. If we spend as much time in prayer as we spend in idol conversation, Heaven will shake in response and the enemy will tremble as he recognizes the power at our disposal.

Blessings,

Pastor
