Pastor's Corner – March 5th, 2024
This is day-1 of my fast from radio and television news and I feel better already.
As I mentioned during worship this past weekend, I found myself becoming increasingly enraged by the rhetoric of those seeking political office as well as the polarizing effect of the misguided and hateful journalism being fed to citizens too lazy to fact check their shallow reports.
Pray for those who serve us and be certain to exercise your right to vote.
Here's the good news: Please join me in welcoming the newest member of Faith Church whose name is Martez. Martez is 13 years old and a real gentleman, and he has been serving as a volunteer with us for several weeks. Blessings to his grandfather, his mom, and his siblings who watched as he came forward!
You have a lot to look forward to this week at Faith. Our Men’s Prayer Breakfast is coming up this Saturday from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. This weekend’s discussion/devotion leader is Vaughn Spencer. You all know Vaughn, but there’s lot you don’t know, so we invite you to join us and bring a friend or two.
The countdown to Resurrection Sunday is underway! The little ones as well as a couple of not so little ones have been rehearsing every weekend for their big Easter program which will include drama, speeches, music, and dance. This is a day for our children, and I want to thank parents and grandparents in advance for working with these little angels as they continue to memorize their lines and their dances. I can’t wait!
Finally, BEFORE YOU GO TO BED THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, SPRING FORWARD (MOVE YOUR CLOCKS AHEAD ONE HOUR). That’s right, you lose an hour this weekend.
