Pastor's Corner – March 7, 2023
Weekend worship has been over the top for past several weeks.
This weekend will be no exception as we wrap up our teaching series, “The Essentials of Growing Up”.
We’ve had a blast sharing this series and it’s all about the elements of spiritual growth:
WE NEED AIR TO BREATHE – PRAYER
WE NEED LOVE – TO LOVE AND TO BE LOVED
WE NEED FOOD TO EAT – THE WORD
WE NEED WATER TO DRINK – THE HOLY SPIRIT
WE NEED WARMTH – FELLOWSHIP
The final installment in this series emphasizes the importance of exercise – sharing your faith. Ever felt really tired and the only thing you were motivated to do was to take a nap? But actually, what we need is to get up off our good intentions and get on the move – we need to exercise our faith. Sure, we need times of rest – being refreshed through reading the Bible and telling others about Jesus gives us good spiritual exercise, and when we’ve done it, we feel all the better for it. Join us Sunday for a good workout!
By the way, have you checked out our ministries for children, teens and young adults lately? Check our website for new opportunities available for all ages. Never before have I seen a more united effort by age group leaders to make spiritual growth so accessible to young people. Get the young people in your life connected to Children’s Church, Kids in Action or the Gen-X small group for teens and young adults.
Two final mentions:
Remember to set your clocks forward 1-hour this Saturday night.
Easter is fast approaching. Let’s make this the most meaningful worship day of the year!
Blessings,
Pastor
