Pastor's Corner – November 30th, 2023
As you read this, we have 30 days left in this month.
In about three weeks, we’ll be celebrating Christmas day and a week later, we’ll be facing a brand new year.
This is great time to look back and to evaluate our accomplishments or to commiserate our missed opportunities and missteps.
It’s also a great time to finish strong! Do you remember those New Year’s Eve resolutions you made at the start of 2023? You were going to lose a few pounds, drink less, come to Church more, and nurture your spiritual growth. How did you do? I know; if you’re like the rest of us; you’re just not consistent.
I have a challenge for all of us: For the next 30 days, would you consider a strong finish in three key areas:
Attend worship services at Faith Church every Sunday for the entire month of December.
Tithe (give 10%) of all that you earn each week in December.
Limit sugary treats
Increase your water intake
Share the Gospel with 1 person and pray for their salvation.
Read the Bible every day.
Pray every morning.
Be nice.
Show grace to someone (including yourself!)
It is said that habits are formed by completing a task for 21 days in a row. Twenty-one days of task completion, then voila, a habit is formed.
Well, I’m not sure this myth is true, but I challenge you to prove me wrong.
FINISH STRONG!
Blessings,
Pastor
