Pastor's Corner – Dec 13th, 2022
Christians celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25th. This date falls on a different day of the week each year.
This year, Christmas happens to fall on a Sunday – the holiest day of the Christian year will fall on the holiest day of the week.
Some Churches have already announced that they will be closed on this day. I get their logic, but I don’t get their theology.
Christmas is the one day of the year when almost 100% of all Americans have the day off from work and for those Churches that open their doors on Christmas day, they enjoy standing room only crowds – even when the day falls on a Sunday. So why close?
FAITH CHURCH WILL BE OPEN FOR WORSHIP ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 25TH AT 10:00 A.M.
We will do things a little differently on this day. As you know, we already practice a relaxed dress code and Christmas Sunday will be even more relaxed. Y
ou’re welcome to keep on your PJ’s and robes and when worship ends at 11:00 a.m., you may return to your cozy Christmas setting at home. I assure you you’ll feel better once you’ve sung a few wonderful songs of the season, enjoyed a special message suitable for all ages and celebrated Holy Communion for the one final time in 2022.
Hey, here’s an idea! Invite/bring someone to church with you. This may be the best gift they receive this Christmas.
Blessings
Pastor
