Pastor's Corner – August 23rd, 2022
Last weekend at Faith Church was memorable.
The Leaf Food Pantry, staffed by some amazing volunteers and led by some true missionaries provided food and love to more than 60 families.
It was a blessing to work alongside the team which included volunteers from our missionary partner, Mountain Brook Baptist. Because of the light rain, our families were comfortably seated in the sanctuary which gave us an opportunity to get to know them individually and to witness to them one-on-one. Several of these new friends joined us for worship on Sunday.
Sunday worship was blessed, as usual, with power-filled music from our Praise team. Following the message, we were blessed to have two young people step forward to receive salvation. It was a powerful moment, and those two young ladies will join nine others scheduled to receive water Baptism Sunday, September 11 at 8:00 am. This will be our first Baptism service in our current location.
This Sunday, your Pastor will continue the series, “The Rest of Romans” and the title of the message will be “How to get from Groans to Glory”. In this message, we’ll learn how the Holy Spirit interprets our groans and God promises our glory.
Don’t forget, this weekend is Fourth Sunday at Faith Church and that means several things. Although we’re always relatively casual here at Faith, fourth Sunday is super casual so come as you are, and we promise you’ll leave different. Fourth Sunday is also a very special time for children – Kid’s in Action. This is the best Children’s Church in the universe – bring your little angels along with their friends!
Blessings,
Pastor Miller
