Pastor's Corner – July 5th, 2022
There is a phenomenon that I like to refer to as the “first time”.
Any person, place, feeling or thing that we experience for the first time is always the best and it has a tendency to control our emotions, our time and our energy like nothing else. Do you remember your first kiss, your first car, your first touch from the Holy Spirit?
You remember the time, place and circumstances of those events and those experiences captivated you for a long season. Do you remember when your kisses became common, when your car became just a ride and the Holy Spirit became an “it” rather a “He”? Don’t ever allow your “first times” to lose their excitement and fire. The Lord can make all your times NEW every morning if you simply acknowledge that all your experiences come from Him and take just a few minutes every to ask Him to renew those experiences in you every day.
As a Church, we’re still on our honeymoon phase; however, I feel that we’ve allowed ourselves to slip into a season of complacency. Let’s not allow the fire to go out! Let’s remain excited about reaching the community where God has placed us. Let’s remain excited about working in the Church. We’re less than a month away from our 1-year anniversary in this new location. Let’s keep the flame red hot!
We have a lot to believe God for. We’re praying daily for the healing of our chronically ill, and for those recovering from COVID. We’re also praying for the events scheduled for this month including VBS, a wedding, The Leaf Food Pantry and other special opportunities for work, worship and service.
Finally, please remember the late Ms. Jo Smith, the mother of Michelle Johnson who passed away on the evening of July 5th.
Blessings
